Contourdle is a free daily puzzle made by one independent developer. By playing, you agree to these terms. They're short, so please read them.

01The game

Contourdle is free to play and needs no account. It's offered as is: puzzles, features and the service itself may change, pause or end at any time, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.

02Fair use

Play it, share your results, enjoy it. Please don't:

• send spam, abuse or anything unlawful through the suggestion form;
• use bots or scripts to flood the site or its suggestion service;
• try to break, overload or get around the site's protections.

We may block access or ignore messages that break these rules.

03Your suggestions

Suggestions are welcome, and sending one is entirely voluntary. By sending one, you allow us to use the idea to improve the game, without any obligation to use it, credit you or pay you. Please don't send anything that's confidential or belongs to someone else.

04Not for navigation

The maps are simplified and stylised for a puzzle. Heights, coastlines and distances are approximate. Never use Contourdle for hiking, sailing, flying or any decision that affects someone's safety.

05Map data and credits

• Elevation comes from Terrain Tiles on the Registry of Open Data on AWS. It's built from public sources including SRTM, GMTED2010, ETOPO1, NED/3DEP and EU-DEM. Full credits are on the Terrain Tiles attribution page.
• The world outline on the locator map comes from Natural Earth (public domain), via world-atlas.
• Contours, shading and the 3D view are drawn from that data by the game itself, using D3 and three.js.

The game's own design and code belong to its developer. The data above stays under its original terms.

06No warranty and limits

To the fullest extent the law allows, Contourdle is provided without warranties of any kind, and the developer isn't liable for any loss or damage arising from using it. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

07Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the new terms.
